Conveyor Logistics Move Ghorasal Components

Cargo carrier Conveyor Logistics has delivered several out-sized power plant components from Mongla to Ghorasal, India.

The heavy-lift items included a gas turbine, weighing 314 tonnes and a gas turbine generator, weighing 328 tonnes. The components were delivered to the 365-megawatt Ghorasal Combined Cycle Power Plant.

The items were received from ocean vessels at Mongla Port, loaded onto flat barges and transported on the river from Mongla to Ghorasal, a spokesperson for Conveyor Logistics said. After discharge from the barges these items got diverted to the project site by manual skidding.

Conveyor Logistics is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium, a global network connecting breakbulk firms around the world. WWPC grants exclusive membership for one company per country or designated area in larger continents.
