Damen Delivers Caspian Shoalbuster

Dutch shipbuilder Damen has delivered a Shoalbuster 2709 vessel from the Netherlands to the Caspian Sea region.

The delivery is the last in a series of three vessels to be delivered to Kazakh firm National Maritime Shipping Co. Kazmortransflot. The vessels each measure 27 meters long and will be used for the towing of breakbulk structures, navigational assistance, handling anchors, and other auxiliary ship duties.

“Thanks to Damen’s standardized shipbuilding concept and philosophy of building for stock, they are able to deliver our vessels within very short term, enabling us to rapidly put our development plans into action,” said Marat Ormanov of Kazmortransflot.

Damen Shipyards Group operates 32 shipbuilding and repair yards worldwide. The firm is headquartered in Nijkerk, in the Netherlands, and employs about 9,000 people globally to deliver about 180 vessels annually.
