Developing the Next Generation of Project Cargo Professionals

Breakbulk’s NextWave Programme is a dedicated initiative designed to engage, support and retain emerging talent as they build their knowledge, networks and careers within the industry.

The programme aims to help address the industry’s skills shortage and bridge the talent gap by supporting the next generation both before and during their careers through two distinct initiatives: NextWave Education Day, for students exploring opportunities in the industry, and NextWave 30, recognising and connecting young professionals already working within it.

Through these initiatives, Breakbulk aims to provide a supportive platform for emerging talent to develop their knowledge, build valuable industry networks and get the best possible head start in their careers.

For industry professionals aged 30 and under

Breakbulk Asia's NextWave 30 is designed to connect and support early-career professionals already working within the project cargo and breakbulk industry. As part of the programme, a dedicated Networking Hour will take place in the Women in Breakbulk Lounge, offering an informal setting for professionals aged 30 and under to meet like-minded peers, expand their industry networks and build valuable connections.

NextWave Education Day

For students exploring careers in the industry

Breakbulk Asia's NextWave Education Day is a dedicated full-day programme designed to introduce university and final-year school students to careers across the project cargo and breakbulk supply chain. Through industry-led discussions, interactive learning and a tour of the exhibition floor, students gain first-hand insight into the industry, practical career advice and opportunities to connect directly with industry professionals.
