Farid Belbouab is a distinguished global leader in maritime, port, and logistics. With over two decades of international experience, he has led major shipping, ports and logistics organizations, shaping their strategic direction, driving operational performance and developing new avenues for sustainable growth. In his current capacity as Group CEO of Gulftainer, Farid is leading the transformation of a 50-year-old company into a more integrated global trade and logistics group. Building on Gulftainer’s strong heritage in ports and terminals, his ambition is to broaden the Group’s capabilities across GT Ports, GT Logistics, GT Parks, GT Lines, and other complementary businesses, creating an increasingly integrated offering for customers across the supply chain. Throughout his career, Farid has held senior leadership roles across Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Previously, he was Group CEO of Meratus, one of Indonesia’s leading integrated maritime and logistics groups, and held senior positions within the CMA CGM Group, including Regional Vice President based in Dubai, overseeing the Middle East, East Africa and the Indian Ocean. He also served as CEO in several countries, including Indonesia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia and the Horn of Africa, consistently delivering operational turnarounds, market share growth and long-term value creation.
